Biography:

Councillor Alan Munro was first elected as a Labour representative in 1995 and now represents the Saltcoats and Stevenston ward.

 

Councillor Munro is a member of the Council’s Appeals Committee, Audit and Scrutiny Committee, Licensing Committee and Board, the Local Development Plan Committee and the Three Towns Locality Planning Partnership. He is a substitute member of the Staffing and Recruitment Committee and also sits on North Ayrshire Leisure Ltd.

 

An electrician to trade, Councillor Munro has always been politically active and involved in trade unions.  He has five children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His interests include following Kilmarnock Football Club and horse racing.
