Councillor Jimmy Miller was elected as a Labour representative for the Stevenston Ward at the May 2017 Local Government Elections. As of February 2022 he represents the Ward as an Independent Councillor.


Councillor Miller holds the position of Older People Champion.  He sits on the Appeals Committee, the Local Development Plan Committee, the Police & Fire & Rescue Committee and the Three Towns Locality Partnership.  He also represents North Ayrshire Council on the Strathclyde Concessionary Travel Scheme Joint Committee and Cunninghame Housing Association
