Biography
Councillor Elizabeth McLardy was first elected as an Independent Councillor in 1995 and now represents the Dalry and West Kilbride ward. During this time she has served on numerous Committees, including Chairing the Planning Committee for five years prior to the last election.
Councillor McLardy sits on the Local Development Plan Committee, the North Coast Locality Partnership, the Education Appeal Committee and the Physical Environment Advisory Panel. She also represents North Ayrshire Council on the Hunterston Site Stakeholders Group and the Spier’s Trust Committee.
Councillor McLardy ran her own health shop in West Kilbride for five years which encouraged her to stand for election, aiming to help champion local business and economy. Her proudest moment was when West Kilbride won the Enterprising Britain Award for Scotland.
