Councillor Anthea Dickson was first elected as an SNP representative for Kilbirnie and Beith at a by-election held in December 2008. She held the position of Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care until August 2016 when there was a change of Administration.
Councillor Dickson sits on the Integration Joint Board, the Garnock Valley Locality Planning Partnership and the Local Development Plan Committee. She also represents North Ayrshire Council on the Ayrshire Area Support Team, the Ayrshire Criminal Justice Joint Committee, the Ayrshire Educational Trust, the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park Joint Management Committee, the CPP Safer North Ayrshire Partnership, the Kilbirnie Loch Management Committee, the North Ayrshire Citizen’s Advice Service Board of Management, and the Spier’s Trust Committee. Councillor Dickson is also a substitute member of the South West Scotland Community Justice Authority and the COSLA Community Justice Sub Group.
Councillor Dickson was employed as Commercial Research and Development Manager at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children prior to joining local government. Having trained and worked as an accountant, she has also worked in the field of Clinical Research, in both the pharmaceutical industry and the NHS.
Note to Constituents: Councillor Dickson will not hold a Surgery in Bridgend Community Centre and Beith Community Centre during February and March 2017.
