Councillor Anthea Dickson was elected as an SNP representative for Kilbirnie and Beith at a by-election held in December 2008.
Following re-election at the May 2012 local government elections, Councillor Dickson was appointed the Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care and sits on the Physical Environment Advisory Panel.
Councillor Dickson also represents North Ayrshire Council on a wide range of external bodies:
Councillor Dickson was employed as Commercial Research and Development Manager at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children prior to joining local government. Having trained and worked as an accountant, she has also worked in the field of Clinical Research in both the pharmaceutical industry and the NHS.
